A former engineer menioned, "PPG Industries is driven by the interests of the stakeholders. They are not interested in serving their employees at all. The experience we had with the management team of PPG was terrible as they made it very clear that we were just numbers, not employees. It was very unpleasant and discouraging experience."

Former Employee - Supply Chain says"Low paying Sales rules all (and they don't understand operations) Leadership is clueless and spent tons of money on a system that was worse than what they had. No one wants to speak truth to power. Also they expected you to be available 24/7."
Current Employee - Research Chemist says"Lacking of leadership from top to bottom"
Current Employee - Technician says"Everything U could think of"
Former Employee - Research Chemist says"The R&D arm of this company is horrific. I worked in a very toxic lab environment in grad school so I was thrilled to go to an industrial lab where everyone is working for the same company and in it together.....not at all the case at PPG. Idea theft and falsification of data runs rampant, it also is the rewarded so it is not the place for you if you want to do good science. HR policies and treatment of employees is decades behind most modern companies."
Former Employee - Production Supervisor says"An extremely weak HR department that shows favoritism. If someone in management, HR or another supervisor doesn't like you or sees you as a threat you won't last there. Too many friends and family from production employees to the management team. A completely incompetent management team that reacts too much without thinking about the long term effects of a given situation. Complete disregard for your interests even though they will tell you they care about your growth which is not true because they have already chosen their favorites on who they want to help move up."
Systems Software Analyst II (Former Employee) says"unless you become part of the click so to speak, you will never advance in the company. The people that never show up on time are the ones that get advanced and not you."
Lead (Current Employee) says"This company is the most unprofessional company I've ever seen in my life. Management is a joke. The blind leading the blind. They dont care about there warehouse workers at all.NoneThey hate their employees"
Others (Former Employee) says"No comments. Not allowed to provide details due to HR constraint. Poor management and very little care for people. Little appreciation for people and welfare. A lot of politics!"
Engineer (Former Employee) says"The company is driven by the interests of the stakeholders. They are not interested in serving their employees at all. The experience we had with the management team of PPG was terrible as they made it very clear that we were just numbers, not employees. It was very unpleasant and discouraging experience."
Grinder Tech (Former Employee) says"The time I worked at PPG, the crew had to work 12 days, Monday through Friday. We were also covered in paint as there was no ventilation system to avoid paint ingestion."
Tier 2 dogs body (Current Employee) says"PPG Shildon is an absolute joke, if you best buds with the cell leaders or team leaders you can get away with spending your shift hiding in the locker room, anyone else your going to have to work harder to cover for the ones who won't work! The factory has a two tier pay structure which basically means anyone one the lower tier will recieve £400+ less a month less but will be put on a one man line being pushed by a cell leader who could only be compared to hitler to fill 600 kits per shift while a tier one employee gets a nice easy job of 40 adhision promoter! The factory has had serious incidents regarding fires and explosions which have all been covered up by the management, someone will get killed here one day (cover ups are ok as they are all in the masons) none of which has been reported to the HSE AVOID THE PLACE DO NOT WORK HERE!!!!! WORST JOB IVE EVER HAD, MADE WORSE BY POOR MANAGEMENT, A CULTURE OF LAZY ARSELICKERS BEING HIGHLY REGARDED WHILE THOSE WHO ACTUALY WORK ARE TREAT LIKE SH!TE"
Responsable de servicio técnico (Former Employee) says"Procesos lentos, mucha burocracia lo cual no permite mantener la competencia en el mercado"
Staffing Assistant (Former Employee) says"They pay you salary as a staffing assistant.. they expect you to be on call 24/7 even if you’re out of town. They pay you for 40 hours and expect you to work 60+ and drop what you’re doing at night and on the weekends to work. They claim to be family oriented which is false. They do not care that you have a family. You better have that phone and laptop with you at all times. They give you no formal training, then “end your assignment ” without notice. They hire you on in the office and tell you you’re permanent it’s not until they fire you that you find out you were a temp as well. I will never recommend this company to anyone."
Operator (Former Employee) says"Worst place I have ever worked. They fired me for calling out and taking precautions due to the wide spread coronavirus epidemic. They care nothing about their employees and will run over who ever they have to. Management is a joke and the work and environment are not worth the pay. I worked there for 5 year and it was the worst 5 years of my life. There are so many health factors with that place that will take a toll on your body in a short period of time too."
Production Supervisor (Former Employee) says"Good opportunity to learn about yourself and how to "deal" with people from all levels and to learn what not to do in a work place or how to treat people. An extremely weak HR department that shows favoritism and doesn't help at all. If someone in management, HR or another supervisor doesn't like you or sees you as a threat you won't last there. Too many friends and family from production employees to the management team (high school friends that look out for each other). A completely incompetent management team that reacts too much without thinking about the long term effects of a given situation. Complete disregard for your interests even though they will tell you they care about your growth which they don't because they have already chosen their favorites on who they want to help move up. Management has no clue on how drive a business to success instead they push to the point of frustration and confusion. They need to share the core values of the big picture that they share amongst themselves so everyone can have a better understanding on how to grow and move forward together. The run like it you own it approach can only take you so far if there is no support which there isn't any. A structure needs to be in place that is consistent on all levels from communication to engagement so they can hire good managers and supervisors that will be committed and wanting to come to work everyday."
Manager (Former Employee) says"Regional management is unprofessional, not truthful and doesn’t properly support the employees. Runs employees into the ground without providing sufficient staffing."
Line lead/supervisor (Current Employee) says"I have never seen a company or those that run it so un involved with the operations. The communication, if it does happen is strictly via email, never seeing anyone higher up including safety walk the floors or speak to the people. Safety is a joke here because the very people on the safety committees are the ones using their positions and ‘power’ (ops manager) to force unsafe acts onto the people, and the people Are in fear of loosing their jobs to speak up. Very horrible and two faced place i can not wait to get away from there"
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says"The manager and supervisors in the Oak Creek customer service department do not possess the skills needed to be effective in their roles. Would not recommend this job to anyone. Racist and inept leadership. department."
Production Associate (Former Employee) says"The company does not care about their employees at all. Every contract they take more away from their employees. Every contract the union allows it to happen. The pay is not worth the years taken off your life from chemical exposure. The health insurance is horrible. 40 years ago it was the place to work, it is nothing like a that now. Ppg Delaware is a shining example of corporate greed and neglecting to take care of their employees."
Tinter (Former Employee) says"Manager was horrible! Treated employees like garbage, Upper management was just as horrible, had no one to turn to. Just had to deal with it. We had to tint paint for orders that were made everyday all day"
Silver handler (Former Employee) says"Got industrial dermatitis was laid off due to it on the day my wife was due to give birth dangerous place to work to Always getting burned Was ok working there at the beginning but as usual management putting more workloads on top of you and more stress"
Quality Inspector (Former Employee) says"The Absolutely worst place to work at.They hire a lot of Convicts and when things go wrong they only believe one side of the story. And they hire a lot of people with no life and miserable people that lie so much and want to make your life miserable as well. They don’t even do background checks they only hire weed heads and drunk people."
Asembly line (Former Employee) says"I would go in and have a good day every day work was great everyday I loved my job and the job loved me I did my best until i was done with the job. And now I'm moving on... to something big and better"
Production (Current Employee) says"Management is a joke, they literally lie to you. Hours are ridiculous. Overtime never stops. The entire place is a joke. Management doesn’t care because they aren’t out on the floor. They go home, while you are stuck working overtime."
Sales Representative (Current Employee) says"Stores short staffed. Equipment broken and out dated. New equipment doesn’t work properly spectrometer barley gets you in the color family. The box stores can do better and quicker matches. Corporate will not allow stores to stock adequate quantities of product, therefore very few orders can be filled completely and on time. Do to drivers being short deliveries are often late. Store managers and below are treated horrible"
Bethany MacCormick says"Theres a concern regarding the authenticity of the oils they sell on eBay as the one I recieved was extremely low quality, unlike any I ever bought from the store even the cheap range, and the only branded thing was the bottle which I see sold all the time and doesn't prove authenticity. They also make claims that can't be verified anywhere else (e.g "highest quality ever made by Arabian Oud") yet sell them at a fraction of the cost of the current most expensive oils. Either they sell a lot of discontinued oils, or they've giving them different names because several times I couldn't find anything about the Arabian Oud oils they're selling by searching for it with the name they gave it. If you ever return anything on eBay they happily accept it... then block you, which is a pretty disgusting business practise as it means you can't leave a review. Imagine banning someone from your shop for making a return, how is this even allowed on eBay it's literally your consumer right. I would recommend avoiding this company as the authenticity of their products is not really verifiable and their business practices are sketchy."
Steven Sproat says"Yes they sell fake Arabian oils (on ebay at least), start bids really low and claim in the descriptions that the item was a limited release of 200 bottles, and retails for £1,400....and then sells for £12. They have the same item listed on their site for £900 Exmple (remove the spaces): paradiseperfumesandgems .co .uk/royal-cambodi-oudh-maliki-arabian-oud-highly-matured-25-years-aged-perfume-oil-1823-p.asp ebay. co. uk/itm/ROYAL-CAMBODI-OUDH-MALIKI-ARABIAN-OUD-HIGHLY-MATURED-25-YEARS-AGED-PERFUME-OIL-/372173867897"
Said says"Fake goods sold. Avoid at all costs. They have an account on eBay and Amazon so be warned. And when you leave an honest feedback back on eBay they accuse the customer of all sorts."
